In honor of Father's Day I thought I would do a post about Ron. Technically he isn't my father but he did give me 5 great kids so he deserves mention on here from time to time. Ron is a farmer at heart. In addition to raising buffalo, cows, pigs, chickens and 4 dogs, he loves to garden. And he is really good at it! Every year he spends hours getting the soil ready, planting, watering, weeding and finally reaping the benefits of his hard work. We are enjoying tomatoes, carrots, radishes, cucumbers, green beans, 3 kinds of squash, black-eyed peas and he just picked his first watermelon. Plus there are beets, onions, peppers and cantaloupe still to come!
Here he is in all his glory.
Our son-in-law Tommy helped put in a watering system.
Look at those carrots
His first watermelon, isn't it beautiful!

i personally think bottling is just as hard as growing...but if the squash starts to overrun you give me a holler
AMAZING! WTG--Ron!!
I am so jealous of your beautiful garden. There is nothing better than home-grown veggies! I miss all the Snowflake veggies we used to eat. If you have a ton of extras, please remember your favorite Aunt (not Janell:) Way to go Farmer Ron!!
Don't forget your son who has spent countless seconds watering them while he's gone! :)
